FGC was established as a result of direct collaboration between a number of former colleagues who had worked at Pilkington and other glassmakers over the last 40 years and had created Project and Manufacturing Management Limited (PMML) as a technology consultancy aimed at supporting the float glass industry. In 2006 Global Glass Consult Limited (GGC) joined FGC enabling the Consortium to provide marketing and commercial consultancy as well as technology, engineering and operational consulting.
